• In the early twentieth century, in the south of the Haute-Vienne, there was a high concentration of artisan tile makers, just on the seam of clay Puycheny operated a dozen tile factories.
• Under the influence of industrialization and rural transformation, most have now disappeared.
• Currently only two are still in operation Puycheny. • A former
tile has been restored and converted into a workshop-museum of the earth.
• During the visit, you will discover, so vivid, traditional manufacturing as has been practiced for generations of peasant-tile makers. Workshops led by Anne Merlet, ceramist, who graduated in fine arts.
